I operate as Kaufman Real Estate & Consulting LLC, based between Florida and California, and I'm the founder and principal of Kaufman & Company, where I lead real estate development and investment across build-to-rent, mixed-use, and workforce housing nationwide. My professional project work also lives at danielkaufmanre.com and danbuildsre.com.
Seventy years of the Kaufman Family Office.
The Kaufman Family Office was founded in 1956 by Donald Bruce Kaufman. A year later he co-founded Kaufman & Broad, later renamed KB Home, one of the first publicly traded homebuilders on the New York Stock Exchange, as a separate venture from the family office itself.
Donald Bruce Kaufman ran the Kaufman Family Office until his death in a plane crash on January 4, 1983. His four sons ran the office in the decades that followed.
The Kaufman Family Office was turned over to me in 2020. In 2026, the collection of Kaufman family office companies was merged into Kaufman & Company, now led by me and the board of directors of Kaufman family members.
Today that combined platform reflects more than 25 years of real estate experience, over $2 billion in project value, and more than 10,000 housing units financed or developed. More on Kaufman & Company →
